Even though they’re not part of the group that would be getting offended, they chose to get offended anyways

Springfest at Allegheny College is a huge hit, being a time for students to let off some steam whether it be by partying or going to college-organized events such as paint at a canvas and seeing what happens. There was one event however that caused some controversy, a party that was Hawaiian themed. Why was this a problem you may ask? Cultural appropriation according to white students that said the theme of the theme of the party should simply be beach instead.
When asked for a quote one student said, “Yeah it’s really terrible that Allegheny GAP is doing something like this, not only is it unfair to those Hawaiian students on campus that don’t have a voice, but doing something like this really goes against our woke agenda.”
“We do have a voice, we just don’t see anything wrong with this because it’s not trying to appropriate our culture at all and it is offensive” one Hawaiian student said in response after hearing this.
While the white students calling out the supposed cultural appropriation did not get the theme change that they wanted, we’re sure that all future events will be extremely bland and boring as to not offend these people.
